Kala cotton is one of the most energy efficient and carbon neutral cotton crops in the world. It is grown in Kutch, Gujarat, India; and is considered to be genetically pure. The crops are entirely rain fed and do not rely on fertilizer or pesticides and are therefore organic.

Only 6-700 Kala cotton weavers are in practice today and many are generational artisans, to support this craft is an honour and the fabric woven for us is incredibly special.

The cotton starts with a stiffness, similar to linen and the garments become softer with age and wear. Something that resonates with the Cabbages & Roses ethos of gently worn and softened fabrics.
