We aim to process refunds within 5 working days of goods being received at our warehouse, however during busy periods such as end of season sale, this may take little longer.

Please note that we are not responsible for return postage costs other than for incorrect, mis-described or faulty items.

Your Rights Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

When you purchase goods online or by phone, you are entitled to the following cancellation rights:

  • You have the right to cancel your contract within 14 days from the day you receive the goods or services.
  • Please note, this right does not apply to items that are made to order, clearly personalised, or cut specifically for you — including fabric and wallpaper orders, as these are custom printed and may vary by batch.
  • If you choose to cancel, you must take reasonable care of the items and keep them in their original condition. Items returned creased or not as originally delivered (e.g., rolled items returned folded) may not be eligible for a refund.

To cancel your order, you must notify us in writing with a clear statement. Please include your name, address, order details, and, if possible, your phone number and email address. If the items have already been printed, cut, or dispatched, cancellation may no longer be possible.

You can cancel by emailing fabric@cabbagesandroses.com or writing to:

If your item is faulty, please notify us within 30 days of receipt. We will assess the issue and, where appropriate, offer a refund or exchange. Refunds will only be processed after the item has been inspected and confirmed as faulty.

Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Linen Quality & Tolerances

Due to the natural characteristics of linen, occasional imperfections are to be expected. Our standard industry tolerance allows for up to 5 faults per 50-metre roll.

When ordering larger quantities we recommend allowing for a small contingency, as it is not uncommon to encounter 1–2 minor weave or print faults per 20 metres.

To ensure colour and batch consistency, especially when additional fabric may be required, we may ask for your cut drop measurements in advance and will often print extra accordingly. In such cases, we kindly request that any unused drop is returned, and we will arrange collection. Please note that we cannot justify resending multiple metres to correct for a minor imperfection such as a 1mm slub.

Swatches, Colour Accuracy & Fabric Information

We strongly recommend ordering a swatch before purchasing any fabric or wallpaper. Colours can vary between screens, and as such, we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges where the product colour differs from what was expected based on online images.

Our colour descriptions are intended as guides to the general palette and feel of the fabric or wallpaper — not exact definitions of tone.

Swatch samples are typically dispatched via next-day delivery on the day of purchase. If you do not receive your sample within 7 days, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to resend it.

Sample orders are non-refundable, and we do not deduct the cost of samples from future purchases. If a sample is temporarily out of stock, we will forward it to you as soon as it becomes available.

Selvedge Marking

Occasionally, tension inconsistencies at the selvedge during printing may cause minor ink marks along the edge. These typically fall within the turnings and are not visible once sewn. If this is not acceptable for your project, we’re happy to arrange collection and reprinting of your order. Please be aware that with larger print runs, the likelihood of this occurring slightly increases.

Linen Care & Fading

Linen is sensitive to light and may fade if exposed to prolonged sunlight. Repeated dry cleaning may also lead to fading over time. We recommend storing and caring for your fabric with this in mind to preserve its quality and vibrancy.

Batch Variation & Linen Characteristics

As our fabrics are printed to order, there may be minor batch-to-batch colour variations. If consistency is essential and the item is in stock, please contact us to check if batch sampling is possible — though this is not available for all products.

Linen is a natural, artisanal material. Its charm often lies in its irregularities, and as such, minor imperfections may occur. On printed fabrics, slight inconsistencies such as small ink dots may occasionally appear. These are rare, but we highlight this possibility on all relevant product listings.

Linen is a completely natural material, and as such, it often features natural variations. You may notice “slubs” or small knots throughout the yarn, which occur randomly and are part of the fabric’s charm. Because each batch of linen base cloth can vary slightly, printed colours may also differ slightly from one batch to another.

These subtle imperfections—such as small marks, knots, or occasional print dots—are inherent in linen and should be expected. While we strive to provide the highest quality in both our linen and our printing, working with a natural product means there can be inconsistencies.

We strongly recommend ordering a sample before purchasing to check color accuracy and to get a sense of the texture and appearance of the fabric.

Fabric Cleaning Instructions

We recommend dry-cleaning only, it is also possible to dab clean any specific marks but please do this carefully.
